View Coach Tin's profile
Coach Tin founded Coach Tin Global Hoops after more than ten years coaching in Vietnam, the Philippines and the United States.
He holds a Level 2 basketball coaching licence issued by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and recognised by FIBA, alongside the Certified Strength Coach credential from the NCSF in the United States. That combination — technical basketball coaching and strength coaching in the same person — is unusual, and it is why the programs here treat skill and conditioning as one thing rather than two.
During his time coaching in the United States he trained directly under Jerry Quinn. In the Philippines he came up under Coach Jong Uichico, head coach of the Philippine national team.
International partners
Coach Tin Global Hoops was built on relationships with these coaches, in the Philippines and in the United States.
Head coach, Philippine national team
Coach Tin came up under Coach Jong Uichico, head coach of the Philippine national basketball team.
That mentorship is what prompted Coach Tin to build Coach Tin Global Hoops in the first place — to connect young players here to the international game.
Head coach, Enverga University
Coach Melki is head coach at Enverga University and a long-standing partner of this project.
His experience with Jr. NBA and other international basketball programs has shaped young players well beyond the Philippines. He leads the Coach Tin Global Hoops programs in Lucena, Quezon.
Coach, United States
Throughout his time coaching in the United States, Coach Tin trained directly under Jerry Quinn, a major figure in American basketball coaching.
Quinn’s influence went beyond technique. It shaped the tactical thinking and the coaching style Coach Tin still works from today.
Coaching advisor, United States
Coach Murphy is both a mentor and a close friend of Coach Tin, and has supported Coach Tin Global Hoops throughout.
Alongside the technical contribution, what he brings to young athletes is the harder thing to teach: how to think about the game, and how to compete.
